Morocco is situated on the North-West coast of Africa, with ports in the Atlantic and Mediterranean seas. This third most populous Arab country is divided into 16 regions. Rabat is the capital and the largest city is Casablanca.

Morocco was a French protectorate from 1912 to 1956. The Alaouite Dynasty is the current Royal family. King Mohammed VI is a well educated ruler who has introduced many social reforms and brought about liberalisation in Morocco.
